Fashion Favorites for 84th Academy Awards

The French Swept the Oscars and apparently silent films are back a better than ever. Well so is Fashion. As it always should be. The nominee's dazzled in beautiful gowns as one should for such a coveted award. Here are my favorites.

Meryl Streep wore  a gold wrap dress by Lanvin and matching gold heels

Viola Davis wore a custom Vera Wang emerald green corseted faille gown with floral crystal applique and draped chiffon pleated skirt.

George Clooney wore a classic tux and Staci Kebiler wore a Marchesa a gold lame off the shoulder column draped gown, a Judith Leiber clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Jennifer Lopez wore a Zuhair Murad gown, Lorraine Schwartz platinum jewelry and carried a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch

Natalie Portman a vintage red chiffon silk Christian Dior Couture gown with velvet polka-dot detail teamed with Harry Winston jewelry

Emma Stone wore a Giambattista Valli gown teamed with a clutch and jewels by Louis Vuitton.

Penelope Cruz in Armani Prive organza gown.

Angelina Jolie wore a Black custom-made strapless Atelier Versace velvet gown with a thigh high slit, Salvatore Ferragamo heels and accessorized with platinum Neil Lane jewelry

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a white one-shoulder column Tom Ford dress with a matching wrap and accessorized with a silver cuff.

Sarash Burton Alexander McQueen's creative director. Was named international designer of the year at the 15th annual style awards in London. A much deserved award if you ask me. Since the passing of  Alexander McQueen. Burton worked alongside Lee McQueen for more than 14 years. Since her appointment, Burton has produced two acclaimed collections. Her debut in Spring/Summer 2011 was a showcase of intricate craftsmanship and in Autumn/Winter 2011, Burton continues to focus on handcraft, establishing herself as an accomplished designer with artisan and technical excellence.
Today, Burton supervises the creative direction and development of all collections of the brand which includes women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories as well as the contemporary line, McQ which is also made up of women’s, men’s and accessories collections. Alexander McQueen is one of the most sought after brands in fashion and will always be as long Burton is involved.

Is Designer Christian Louboutin Working With Swizz Beatz ?

Well word in the fashion and music world. The answer to that question is YES. The Super Producer Swiss Beats and Mr. Louboutin the "red bottoms" producer are cooking up something magical. The New York times reported that Mr. Louboutin will be recording a song for the 20th anniversary event for his famous red sole high heel collection. As a spectator and lover of his shoes womens and mens I hope that Mr. Louboutin dosent plan on laying any tracks. I expect they asign a DOPE artist on the song and show some of the sick designs he can put on one's foot for a mere couple thousabds of guap dollars.

My favorite Red Carpet looks at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards

Most awards shows are remembered for the winners and performances but hey thats another blog. This years red carpet looks were some what conservative this year. Elegant Couture gowns with sleeves, beautiful embrodering and old hollywood hair styles flooded the red carpet. Although this is the Grammy's and their was plenty sexy cut-outs, plunging backs and necklines daring do's and some I wish you didnt's to go around.

Kanye is Going Back! Back! to Paris for fashion week that is.

Kanye West is expected to show his DW line again this March in Paris Fashion Week says WWD (Womens Wear Daily). The line was not well received at its last showing but I as a personal fan of Mr. West's music and fashion hope that it gets it much due success and praise. For the sake of Kanye's ego. I would hate for someone so talented to go down as just a celebrity who had a clothing line and not a Fashion Designer Legend that I know he can be. Plenty of people will criticize him for his work few will see his genius as always though. Here is to Kanye from the Chi. To a guy from the G. Good Luck man!
